Ed has forged ahead and began work on the crossheads themselves. As this involves pretty much all CNC work, he has done a bunch of this work without me getting in the way. They look pretty good to me!

I remember you telling me how amazing this train was going to be. Looks like it's slowly getting to be just that.
As the list of skeptics who don't really believe that I can build a Santa Fe 2900 Class live steam locomotive seems to grow larger each day I have created this AMAZING blog with the help of my favorite child, the eldest daughter (editorcomments: this is her description), to document this momentous journey (and quiet the infidels!). It has been a life long dream of mine to build a live steam engine and when the opportunity presented itself and the stars aligned I jumped at the chance. Using my extensive 1 1/4 years of high school metal shop experience of so long ago and under the expert tutelage of Ed, the Live Steam God, I attempt to make this dream come true. Hop on board and enjoy the adventure!
